Monica Ander, TCM

Monica Ander, R.TCMP, R.Ac, has been in the field of health for 20 years. It all started when she completed a high school practicum as a fitness trainer at an all lady’s gym called “Spa Lady”, which pushed her to complete BCRPA fitness courses. She branched out eventually to work as a personal trainer in Whistler at the prestigious Avello Spa and Health Club in Whistler. As a previously competitive athlete herself who likes being airborne and going fast on skis and a bike, she truly understands injuries and chronic pain. It was a natural progression to work with injured athletes in Whistler to help them recover through hands-on manipulation and designing exercise programs. Throughout the years, Monica completed many certification courses in massage such as Thai Massage, Thai Herbal Compress Massage, Therapeutic Touch, Raindrop Therapy, Deep Tissue, and Trigger Point Therapy. She later went on to study Chinese Medicine, which was always her dream. She is currently a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist through the CTCMA.

Monica has been running a successful pain management focused clinic in Nelson for many years. She completed certification in Acupuncture Injection Therapy which has greatly enhanced her tool belt of pain relief modalities. For the past year, she has been apprenticing under Dr.Kailia in Prolotherapy and Trigger Point Injection Therapy, and is really passionate about these modalities because of the amazing results it produces for patients.

In addition to her private practice, Monica works as a professor at the Chinese Medicine school – teaching many core subjects. This experience keeps her skills very sharp and current. Monica has an extensive background as an ACMG guide and an outdoor athlete. She is an avid downhill mountain biker, climber, skier, and dirt biker – who always has an adventure or road trip planned when she’s not working.

If you’re having chronic or acute pain, Monica’s compassionate and hopeful personality will be an asset
to your healing.
